For one summer during college I worked in a Grocery store, in the deli/bakery section. It was boring work, although sometimes slightly insane too. The people were interesting, lunch and dinner time were always crazy, and holidays down right scary. People can be very particular about their food. In addition to fresh cut meats and cakes, we also made subs. I grew up on this subs. 2 feet long, and a hell of a lot cheaper and better then subways. I of course grew up with subs, here in PA, we have Hoagies.
Today I had a what they called a Italian Hoagie. Only it was Ham, salami, and turkey. Now everyone makes their Italian's a little different. The Deli I worked at used ham, hot ham, and pepperoni. I've had salami instead of hot ham. I have never had Turkey in an Italian, never. What in the world is going on here? I actually feel like complaining to the deli, except that would mean walking all the way back to the deli from here, before the end of lunch. And in reality it was not horrible, just not what I wanted. I wanted an Italian. Not going to order an Italian from there ever again...
