Everyone who drinks coffee basically expects that everyone else also drinks coffee. I of course drink tea. Which makes people think I'm a little weird. Of course I have liked tea since before I spent a month in Ireland (which made my love for tea stronger). My favorite teas are black teas, like Earl Grey or Irish Breakfast (which I happen to be drinking right now). I also like a lot of 'herbal' teas like sleepy time and Mandarin Orange.
Of course I've never really gotten used to the traditional tea time in the afternoon. I tend to drink tea in the morning during lunch or after supper before bed. Also during the summer the tea is usually iced tea, unsweetened like the Yankee I am. So why tea?
Well first of all, although I love the smell of Coffee, I never really like the taste (I like Coffee ice cream and chocolate covered espresso beans but that's about it). Coffee also usually has a lot more caffeine then Tea, and I'm not a big caffeine person. Thirdly tea besides tasting better and smelling Davine, has a much more diverse array of possibilities. Coffee taste is determined by where it is grown, amount of shade vs. sunlight and type of coffee bean. There are a lot more kinds of tea leaf, black, red, white, green, with several variants, plus there are many other herbs which get made into tea, like Chamomile. Rose petals, Jasmine, lemon, orange, Cinnamon, and other spices can also be added to change the taste. Also have you ever heard of a coffee that unfolds like a blooming flower while it steeps?
Tea I tell you is the way to go. And it amazes me how many people think I'm just plain crazy for thinking so. It really does make me wonder how many 'just' tea drinkers are out there.
