Telling a Story

Let me tell you a story.
We'll start with a
'Once upon a time'
Or maybe we will start
where most people end

Let me tell you a story
its not daring or wild
its simply a story
of a child like you
who with wide-opened eyes
gathered flowers and leaves
who wondered in worlds
that most do not see

Let me tell you a story
I'll make funny voices
I'll act out both sides
of the daring sword fight
I'll do something funny
come sit let me begin
Oh wondering child
won't you let me begin?

Let me tell you a story
of a child not of this world
who grew up like you did
and saw what no one saw
Who's day dreams begin
where dreams end.
Who knows what others know
But sees it differently

Let me tell you a story
of how quickly you grew
yet how much a child you are
how the adult world mixed
changed your child wonder
how you still day dream
while living so far away
still see fairies and all
that others can not see
